Ollin Metzitlalinicue

This Moon dance prayer being held in the North of the Planet will be honoring, respecting and embracing the ancestors and the ancestral wisdom that is part of this land through exchanging and sharing our roots and traditions, awakening the ancestral memory with the purpose of strengthening our own roots and connection with the feminine, awakening more women into their own power of creation and love, and supported by the strength and love of men, honoring each other and bringing balance and growth to life.

The name and the image of this dance “Ollin Metzitlalinicue” are honoring the connection that we all have with all the light in the infinite universe and its stars, in unification with this planet, our Mother Earth and all the light and guidance that we can receive to expand our own consciousness.

At the same time this dance is honoring all the movement that our moon creates in the waters, bringing consciousness to the ways as we relate with our inner waters and outer waters of the planet, and the importance of taking care of the waters in Finland and in the north of the planet, so we can secure the clean-clear waters for our future generations and the deep understanding of it as a sacred source of life.

Also part of the image of this dance is the hummingbird, emerging as the energy of beauty, harmony, sweetness, strength and love that comes from this prayer reflected in our own heart, expanding love, wisdom and compassion.

How it works

The prayer of the Moon Dance its a camping retreat in which we are on nature the whole time and it requires order, structure and different roles. The
roles and teams include the following: dancers, singers, copal bearers (sahumadoras), fire keepers (eagle men), water carriers, wind carriers (atecocolli), cooking team and supporters teams. Every team has a leader guiding and taking care of each team so we can have a harmonious prayer in which we all are together co-creating the circle of prayer, healing, and expansion.

Attire for the Moon Dance: White long skirt, poncho and both with a blue ribbon on the edge of both.
