Its a name that its honoring the connection that we all have with all the light in the universe in unification with this planet our Mother Earth and all the light and guidance that we can receive from it and reflect in our daily lives and our surroundings, at the same time that its honoring all the movement that our moon its creating in the waters, bringing consciousness to the ways as we relate with our inner waters and outer waters of the planet, and the importance of taking care of the waters in Finland and in the north of the planet, so we can secure the clean-clear waters for our future generations and the deep understanding of it as a sacred source of life. In this dance’s image you can see the hummingbird, emerging as the energy of beauty, harmony, sweetness and love that comes from our power of will that keep us walking the path of our hearts.

Singers in the drum, Sahumadoras and atecocolli: You need to have experienced the moon dance for at least 4 years before stepping into the elements in order to be in service for other sisters and commit to another 4 years of dance in Ollin Metzitlalinicue to deepen into the beauty of the moon dance and being in service in one of the elements.

Fire Eagle men: Normally we ask for one year of service as helpers before committing to be a fire eagle man, so you can get to know the work they do and then commit for the next 4 years to be in service connecting with the fire and all the movement that happens during the moon dance. However as this is the first moon dance in the North, we are inviting all men who feels the call to be in service as fire keepers to rich out and feel welcome, just know that you have to commit for 4 years to do the work in the fire, time in which you will receive a lot from the Moon dance and the work with the grandfather fire.

Helpers: Helpers are welcome to participate, making food, protecting the space, cleaning, etc. As a helper you get to know the moon dance and receive the medicine from it, but without the commitment to be dancing, fasting, sweatlodges, or making all the work that the dancers, elements and fire men are doing. Commonly are the family members of the dancers that want to come to support them and witness them process, as well as people that want to be around the circle of the prayer to get the opportunity to receive the energy that its moving during those days. In México its very normal to offer our help to support the spiritual growth of the community, and its something that comes from the heart, because we understand all the work that the dancers are doing, and we know its hard and beautiful to witness them work. We do like that in all cases as pilgrimages, mexica dance ceremonies, viewing ceremonies, sun dances, vision quests, etc and we have also the Donation side of this work that is very similar.
